Cashier / Retail Salesperson (FT)

Industrial Plastics & Paints are hiring both full-time and part-time retail cashiers and retail salespeople to help our customers select the right products for their unique projects, in our Kelowna, BC store.

The ideal candidate has great communication skills and enjoy working on projects with materials like, 3D Printing, Paints, Arts & Crafts, Castable Resins, Ceramics, Composites, Fiberglass or Plastic Materials.

Our most successful employees enjoy problem solving and are makers themselves with personal experience using the type of products we stock and sell.

We are eager to help you learn and train on the specifics of our products, if you are able to think quickly on your feet and are flexible to a wide-range of retail job demands.

To be successful in this role, you will need to:
Enjoy working with the public.

Genuinely care about providing our customers with technical assistance in selecting the best product solution.

Have the desire and ability to learn about technical products and apply that knowledge to improve our customers’ experience.

Have a professional, direct and courteous style.

Take initiative and work well with minimal supervision.

Be respectful, direct and make decisions in the best interest of the customer.

Available to regularly work Saturdays.

Capabilities:
Operate cash register & Process cash money, cheque and credit/debit card payments.

Customer service oriented.

Ask detailed application questions to customers to provide technical guidance and advice about product solutions for their project need.

Provide cost estimates on materials.

Suggestive selling and Value Selling are critical to your success.

Work with personal accountability and self-motivation.

Essential Skills:
Oral Communication in English.

Understand Basic Math.

Computer Literacy.

Working with others in a team setting or alone with minimal supervision.

Able to problem solve.

Able to be task efficient and organized.

Ability to Train & Learn about:
Paint, Coatings & Sundries.

3D Printing, Hobby Making & Craft Manufacturing.

Casting and Fiberglassing Resins & epoxies.

Building Materials & Hardware (other than lumber)

Marine & Pleasure Craft.
